AN EXAMPLE :COMEDY THRILLER
Comedy thriller are normal targeted for a family audience. Thriller's that have a bit of comedy in them, normally use actors or actresses that specifically act in the film that has that type of genre, for example a comedy thriller might star 'Eddie Murphy' who is a well known comedy actor that has starred in many comical films.
Questionnaires that are given to the general public before the film has been released, has recently shown that it has helped many producers and ex-executive producers in deciding to what audience best fits their film. By doing this it increases the chances of it selling more at box-offices which would increase the amount of money that is mad by that film in particular.
Having a target audience is also important in the film making world because different age groups have a preference to what they would like to be seen in a film, for example an older audience may prefer a different editing style to a younger audience which could come under, the film genre or the type of filming style.
